The Legal Services Board is looking for experienced leaders to help drive a major reset of legal services regulation. We’re recruiting for three senior positions: Director of Regulatory Oversight; Head of Performance and Oversight, and Head of Policy, Development and Delivery.
The recruitment comes as we sharpen our focus on risk-based, targeted, and proportionate oversight, supported by a streamlined policy programme.

About the roles
Director of Regulatory Oversight
The Director of Regulatory Oversight is a new post of critical importance to our mission and new organisational structure. This postholder will lead a new directorate, which will bring together different teams into a single functional area, to discharge the our statutory regulatory oversight function during a critical period for the legal services sector.
The successful candidate will help build and sustain a high performing team with deep insight into the activity of the regulators we oversee, to help support proportionate and effective oversight.
Head of Performance and Oversight
This newly created role will play an important leadership position within the LSB’s newly formed Regulatory Oversight Directorate. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Oversight, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the LSB’s statutory oversight functions.
The role will lead the delivery of high-quality, risk-based and evidence-led oversight of frontline regulators, ensuring that regulatory performance is effectively monitored and that timely and proportionate interventions are made where necessary.
Head of Policy, Development and Delivery
The Head of Policy, Development and Delivery will lead the LSB’s policy programme, which will be set out in the three-year strategy we are currently developing and engaging stakeholders on.
The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of regulatory policy, working closely with frontline regulators and key stakeholders. The role will ensure that our policy work is focused on where it can add the greatest value, with a strong emphasis on consumer outcomes, innovation and an effective legal services market.
